Founded by golf enthusiast Jeanette Sim, Singapore Ladies Golf Association (SLGA) was established in 1979 with its main aim being to act as the governing body for ladies golf in Singapore. One of the Association’s first international collaborations was being part of the inaugural group of Asean ladies golf associations to launch the Queen Sirikit Cup tournament. SLGA also to help Singapore host the very first leg of the Kosaido Ladies circuit, an event for lady professionals which has attracted top golfers such as Laura Davies and Liselotte Neumann. Since its formation, the SLGA has introduced inter-club leagues and started the Evergreens, a section for senior lady golfers, with competitions and social games being organised for Evergreens on a regular basis. The SLGA, also continues to develop female golfing talents in Singapore via its Junior’s Programme.
